The Student Voice Advisory Network is a superintendent-led initiative that brings together students from each of the 11 FBISD high schools to participate in day-long sessions each month that develop student’s advocacy skills. Ambassadors also elevate the student voice in decision-making at the district and campus levels, and regularly advise district officials on policy and program matters. VOICES is also responsible for planning and putting on the district-wide High School Diversity Conference each year.
Three students are selected to represent each campus and are eligible to apply during their Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years. Students will serve a one-year term and may be eligible to apply for the following year as a Sr. Voice Ambassador. This is a full school year commitment and attendance is mandatory at all meetings. Upon failure to attend two meetings students will be replaced by the next qualified candidate from their school.
